Donbas under Russian control, and the front is frozen: Trump approved the conditions of the Kremlin - the media

To spread: Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed to take full control over the Donbass and freeze the front line in other regions in exchange for the termination of the war against Ukraine. According to the media, US President Donald Trump expressed support for such an agreement.

According to FOX News, citing a European diplomat, after meeting Putin in Alaska Trump told the Allies that the Russian leader seeks to establish control of Lugansk and Donetsk regions, but was ready for compromise on Zaporozhye and Kherson region by freezing the front line. Before the war, Donbas had a population of about 6. 5 million people and included Lugansk and Donetsk regions.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky categorically rejected the idea of transferring territories and stressed that this contrary to the Constitution and would create the preconditions for new Russian attacks. In particular, he stated that Ukrainian troops would not take 30% of Donetsk, who are still under the control of Ukraine.

According to Fox News, Germany Chancellor Friedrich Merz in a comment to ZDF said that, according to Trump, Russia is ready to negotiate, leaving the front line rather than administrative borders. After talking to Trump, European leaders stated that they greet his efforts to end the war and achieve a just peace, but did not specify whether they support the peace agreement rather than a truce.

Putin, for his part, called Trump negotiations on Alaska "very candid" and stated that Moscow respects the position of the US administration on the need for a quick termination of hostilities and seeks to resolve the issue peacefully. However, the Kremlin's head does not insist on temporary ceasefire as a prerequisite for a peace agreement.

According to journalist Axios Barack Ravid, US President Donald Trump has told Zelensky and NATO leaders that the Kremlin prefers a comprehensive agreement to end the war, and he himself considers a rapid peaceful settlement more effective than a temporary truce.
