Czech residents raised funds for a military helicopter for Ukraine: Details (Photo)

To spread: the Czech Republic has become the first country in the world whose citizens were able to raise money for a military helicopter because of donations. Soon Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk will be taken to Ukraine. On Saturday, March 1, the Czech Dárek Pro Putina initiative raised the funds needed to buy the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter for the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Volunteers reported this on the social network.

"The Czech Republic has become the first country in the world, whose citizens raised funds for a military helicopter for Ukraine," volunteers said. As the activists reminded, the Black Hawk purchase fee for the Ukrainian army began in November 2023, but after a while it slowed down. Including the pressure of different people who claimed that Ukraine does not need this machine, and it is better to spend money on something else.

It is an old car of American production, which was named honor meter (čestmír can be laid out into two Czech words: čest - honor, and MIER - peace). Initially, the money was raised for a private property helicopter in Europe and the owner asked for 105 million crowns. However, the GUR was able to find a newer Sikorsky UH-60a+ Black Hawk in the US, which was even 35 million CZK (1. 4 million euros) cheaper than an analogue that was in Europe.

In total, volunteers have collected 72 297 194 CZK (ie almost $ 3 million) from the required 70 million. The Ukrainian side will take care of transporting a car from America to Europe. We will remind, within the framework of the action "Gift for Putin" Czech volunteers collected EUR 1. 22 million for the purchase for the Ukrainian army of the T-72 Avenger tank.
