"All items are designed": West Africa leaders are preparing for military intervention in Niger

The Economic Society of the West African states sent a delegation to the country, but diplomatic efforts were unsuccessful. Now members of the bloc are preparing the army. West Africa's defense leaders have made a plan of possible military interference in case the state coup in Niger has not been canceled. This was reported with reference to the words of the regional bloc leader on August 4 on Reuters.

According to the media, the ECowas (ECowas) was given a coup in Niger before Sunday to resign and release the chosen President Mohammed Basum. The Ecowas Commissioner on Political Issues, Peace and Security Abdel-Fatau Musa said that the leaders of the states would decide where and when to strike. According to him, the conspirators will not be disclosed about the agreement.

"All the elements that will be included in any possible intervention have been developed here, including the necessary resources and how and when we are going to deploy forces," Musa said. The material states that the association of 15 countries has previously imposed sanctions against Niger and sent a delegation to his capital to find a "friendly solution". The unnamed close interlocutor conveyed to journalists that the delegation had "repelled" and did not stay in the country for a long time.

"We want diplomacy to work, and we want this message to be clearly transferred to them - that we give them every opportunity to change what they have done," Musa emphasized. The media added that Nigeria and Senegal were also preparing to deploy troops. We will remind, on July 28, some of the fighters of the Presidential Guard Niger opposed the leader of the state. On the same day, Guard Chief General Omar Chiani declared himself a new Niger Chairman.
