Truas drones will arrive and help on the battlefield: what drones are capable of

Tactical supply systems are a new type of cargo drones for short distances in combat. The US Department of Defense has acquired eight British unmanned TrUAS tactical supply systems, Suas News reports. Two marine infantrymen who can be trained in five days are enough for management and maintenance. Truas is a large drone that can carry up to 70 kg of different military supply (medicines, food and ammunition) about 14 km.

The drone works automatically using predetermined coordinates to determine the flight route. The new system has already been demonstrated at an infrastructure and logistics meeting, which was held at the US Sea Corps. The senior officers and logists of the sea corps watched the drone climbed into the air with the load, delivered it to the specified place and returned to the starting point.

In their view, the concept of using drone for transportation of goods can have a significant impact on the battlefield, as they will help to solve the problem of emergency supply. The military believes that the demonstration has been successful, and now the Maritime Corps plans to create a special military specialty for Truas operators. Commanders can send their Marines to TrUAS training to local training and logistics support centers.
