Ukrainian drones for the first time stopped the work of key western oil terminal

To spread: the attack of Ukrainian UAVs on the northwestern Russian port of Primorsk for the first time led to the cessation of load on the key western oil terminal of the Russian Federation. Primorsk in the Leningrad region is able to transfer about 1 million barrels of crude oil a day, which makes it a key export knot for Russian oil and the largest port in Russia west.

The port exceeds the flagship variety of Russian oil "Yuralal", as well as about 300,000 barrels of diesel fuel a day, Reuters writes. According to sources, Ukrainian drones for the first time attacked the port in Russian Primorsky, after which two vessels lit up. The Security Service of Ukraine stated that the drones attacked Primorsk on the night of September 12, which led to a fire in the port and stops of loading work.

The shipment of oil from Primorsk was stopped early in the morning on Friday, confirmed two sources. It is unknown whether the shipment has resumed. Oleksandr Drozdenko, Governor of the Leningrad region, confirmed that as a result of the attack of drones, one vessel and pumping station was burned, but did not report the termination of work. Drozdenko later stated that the fire was extinguished and there was no risk of oil spill. According to him, more than 30 drones were destroyed over the region.

The journalists noted that the transneft pipeline operator operating the port, and the Russian Ministry of Energy refused to comment. Oil prices increased by almost 2% after the attack on Primorsk led to the cessation of shipment, which exceeded pressure from fears about excess supplies and risks of weakening demand in the United States. According to sources, two oil tankers, Kusto and Cai Yun were shot down as a result of the attack.

Kusto - Aframax tanker, which contains about 700,000 barrels, which is owned by Solstice Corp, according to LSEG. Cai Yun - Aframax tanker, owned by Acceronix Ltd. According to public databases, both are registered in the Seychelles. Other Russian ports, including near Ust-Lugu and Novorossiysk on the Black Sea, have repeatedly attacked drones in recent months.

Russian oil exports have already been limited, since the port of Ust-Luga has not yet resumed its capacity after the drone attack in August 2025. This month the port is loaded in half. Russia has revised its September exports of raw oil from Western ports to 2. 1 million barrels per day (b/d), which is 11% more than the initial schedule, since the strikes of drones in Russian oil refineries have led to a decrease in local demand for cheese oil. Primorsk is located near St.

Petersburg, where Pulkovo Airport has stopped work for a short time. The Russian military reported 221 Ukrainian drone per night. The General Staff of Ukraine has not yet commented on the Russian message. Volodymyr Putin was present at the opening ceremony of the port of Primorsk in 2001, one year after he became President of Russia, when the country reduced its dependence on other ports of Baltic. Recall that at least 10 regions of the Russian Federation began a deficiency of gasoline.
