Massive attack on Chernihiv region: "Shahedy" hit critical objects, blackout continues in the regional center

Share: Russian "Shahedy" hit heat and power supply facilities in Chernihiv Oblast. There is a blackout and a difficult situation with water supply in the regional center. Power outages in part of the Chernihiv district continued as of 9:00 a. m. The Chernihiv District State Administration reported that the critical infrastructure in some of the district's communities was restored from reserve sources. The air alert in the Chernihiv region continued at the time of publication of the news.

The Chernihiv RDA noted that energy companies will continue to restore electricity after the danger of repeated strikes has passed. The head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported on the mass attack of Russian strike drones on Chernihiv Oblast. "According to the consolidated data of the Air Defense and Defense Forces, 51 air targets were recorded during the day, including 2 ballistic missiles," the head of the Regional State Administration wrote.

According to him, in two communities of the Chernihiv district, "Shakheds" hit a heat supply facility and an energy facility, which led to emergency power outages in Chernihiv and communities in the north of the region. "Critical infrastructure has been transferred to generators. Unbreakable points are partially deployed. In case of longer periods of power supply restoration, such points will be deployed additionally," Chaus reported. As of 8:34 a. m.

, the KP "Chernigivvodokanal" reported that the situation with water supply in the city remains difficult. On the first floors of high-rise buildings, water is guaranteed, but the supply of water above depends on the topography of the area. On average, according to the water supply company, water reaches 4-5 floors. Next to the apartment buildings, water pipes have been opened, the location of which can be seen on the official website of "Chernigivvodokanal".

Local authorities reported a blackout in Chernihiv Oblast and Slavutych as a result of the Russian attack on the evening of October 20. Power outages were recorded in the northern part of the region, local residents were urged to stock up on water. "Ukrzaliznytsia" warned about train delays. The mayor of Slavutych, Yury Fomichev, reported that an energy facility on the territory of the city had been hit.
