The monuments of the Russian Empress Catherine II and commander Suvorov (video) were dismantled in Odessa

It should be noted that the monument to the founders of Odessa was erected on Catherine Square in 2007, and the Suvorov monument in 2012. The monuments of the Russian Empress Catherine II and Russian commander Alexander Suvorov were dismantled in Odessa. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Kirill Tymoshenko on Telegram. "Odesa. They started," he wrote. There was also a photo with the demolition of the Suvorov monument.

The monument to the Russian military Alexander Suvorov was opened in Odessa in 2012. He was in the village of Kotovsky. The monument was a copy of another Suvorov monument, which was transported from Odessa to Izmail in 1945. The pedestal has sculptures of Catherine II and her associates - where Rybasu, where Rozen, Potemkin and Zubov. It was located in Odessa on Catherine Square. It was built for the first time in 1900, but in 1920 it was dismantled.

Already in 2007 the monument was decided to be restored. It should be noted that the preparation for the demolition of monuments began in the afternoon. We will remind that on November 30 the City Council of Odessa decided to demolish the monument to Catherine II. It will be transferred to the museum until the so -called park of the imperial past is being built in the city.
