The colonel emphasized that the unit will try to act without bureaucracy, unnecessary papers and not according to "old books". Manko's conversation with journalist Tetyana Goncharova lasted almost an hour, as can be seen in the video published on October 23. The colonel described his vision for the new unit of the Armed Forces and the changes the army needs. Among other things, he explained how the fighters of the units under his command differ from those of the Assault Troops.
They have different tactics, fight in small groups, act flexibly, move quickly on the battlefield and can be in many directions at the same time. "We don't work according to the books of previous years. We create it: for each of our operations, we do analytics, analyze it all. It goes to us in preparation, develops materials," he said. The colonel confirmed that the assault troops were created without "help from above" and assured that they are different from a "paper army".
The unit will report directly to the commander of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi and will perform the role of a "fire team". "For someone, stormtroopers are a dream. Because we don't have a paper army. We were under Zaluzhny, under Khomchak, and we will continue. We have been since 14," the video said. The military also talked about the importance of assault troops.
According to him, they are called to the most difficult areas of the front and they work alongside other brigades of the Armed Forces. "The need for assault units is enormous. We are constantly being asked: "Give stormtroopers here, give them there. " Today, we are closing the most difficult areas of the front, where we need to act quickly and precisely," Manko emphasized. Among other things, the Ukrainian officer responded to criticisms of the Russian language.
He explained that he has learned the Ukrainian language and is ready to dance to the performer Stepan Giga to show it. "I graduated from a Russian-language school, a technical school, and an institute. And I, although I spoke Russian or Surzhik all my life, but I learned the Ukrainian language in order to live in Ukraine, to communicate freely with everyone. I don't want to touch on this topic, it's a little unpleasant for me. And in general, it's even becoming political at some point," Manko said.
It should be noted that People's Deputy Maryana Bezugla spoke about the person of Valenty Manka. In particular, she compared the Ukrainian military man, Hero of Ukraine and former commander of the 33rd assault brigade, with the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. In addition, the former chief of staff of the 12th brigade of the NSU Bohdan Krotevych spoke about the new leader of the assault troops. It turned out that the network has footage of Valentin Manko listening to Russian music.
