Hungary Prime Minister Orban said that the EU sanctions for Russian nuclear power

Budapest continues to cooperate with the Russian state energy company Rosatom, so it intends to block any sanctions of the European Union on this sector. Hungary authorities said that it would not allow the European Union sanctions against Russian nuclear energy and will veto any such proposal. This was stated by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Reuters reports. Ukraine earlier called for a Russian state nuclear energy company Rosatom to the tenth Station Package of the European Union.

Orban on Friday, January 27, stated that the veto should be vetoed at sanctions against the nuclear energy sector of the Russian Federation. "We will not allow the plan to add nuclear energy to sanctions. There can be no word about it," said the Hungarian Prime Minister. It should be noted that the Russian "Rosatom" continues cooperation with Hungary, in particular, the company is engaged in the construction of new NPPs "Paksh".

We will remind, earlier Focus informed that on January 23, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siarto stated that Budapest would not block the transfer of military assistance to Ukraine from the European Peace Fund (EPF) worth € 500 million. In addition, Focus was reported earlier that in December 2022 the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that the pro-Russian position of Hungary would not change until Viktor Orban would be as a prime minister.
