The former Slovak Minister is suspected of illegally supplying weapons to Ukraine

To spread: Slovakia's police began an investigation into former Defense Minister Yaroslav Nadia on suspicion of illegally transferring military equipment to Ukraine. The case may be delayed within the case. The investigation concerns the transmission of the C-300 anti-aircraft missile system, the MiG-29 fighters and other equipment, which, according to the inspection bodies, was not recognized as excess and which was of considerable material value.

This was reported on June 18 by Noviny with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Presidium of the country's police. The audit revealed significant differences between the reports of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, as well as between the approved and actual cost of the assistance transferred. Yaroslav Nady is currently in Canada.

In the published statement, he rejected the accusation, noting that all actions were agreed under the international obligations of Slovakia and fully corresponded to internal procedures. He also stressed that providing military assistance to Ukraine was a justified step against the background of Russian aggression. Meanwhile, the ruling coalition of Slovakia increases the pressure on this issue.

Representatives of the authorities in Bratislava, who have previously criticized the supply of weapons to Ukraine, are called the transfer of the C-300 and MiG-29 treason. And the opposition requires a comprehensive investigation. It should be noted that in November 2024, the Slovakia Crime Administration created a donor investigation group to study the circumstances of the transfer of weapons in the amount of about 700 million euros.

The report of the High Control Office recorded a discrepancy between the settlement and actual value of the transferred property, including ammunition, which was sold to private structures at a residual price and then purchased back through a state -owned company Konstrukta Defense - at a substantially higher value. The editor -in -chief of the Slovak edition of Future Army Martin Martin in a comment to "Militar" stressed that the actions of Yaroslav Nadia should not have legal consequences.

According to him, they were written off ammunition, which was initially sold by the state at a residual price of a private company. And when the Ministry of Defense then decided to send these ammunition to Ukraine, it purchased them through the state company Konstrukta Defense, and the amount was much higher than the one she sold them.

"Ukraine has been attacked as a result of unprovable aggression by Russia, and we believe that providing it with any help, including military, was correct and properly supported today, because without weapons and ammunition it is impossible to protect itself," Martis stressed. We will remind, the Slovak politician and member of the European Parliament Milan Ugrik stated that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, not Vladimir Putin, should be inclined to peace.
