To replace the addresses of the objects placed there, the Duma took the month. At the expense of the city budget for the Russian Embassy, they made signs with a new name, they were transferred to the consular department of the Foreign Ministry to ask the ministry to install them. However, the Embassy staff ignored the request.
The Latvian Foreign Ministry assured journalists that the Russians were informed about the renaming of the street and changing the official address of the embassy, and they also indicated to change the address plates. However, it is impossible to penalize them, since the immunity, envisaged by the Viennese Convention on Diplomatic Relations in 1961, applies to diplomatic missions. "The issue is resolved by following the provisions of the Vienna Convention," the Foreign Ministry emphasized.
The publication reminds that the decision to renam the street where the Russian Embassy is located, was also made in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius. The street began to be named "Heroes of Ukraine". We will remind, in the spring Lithuanian activists painted in the color of the lake opposite the Embassy of Russia in the prestigious area of Vilnius Zversinas. It was also reported that in Finnish cities located near the Russian border, they decided to regularly turn on the anthem of Ukraine.
