The reform of the power system during the war: which will help Ukraine avoid blackouts through the shocks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

Mini -electric power plants will supply water and heat to settlements in war and firing critical infrastructure, as well as the energy safety of atomic generation. In Ukraine, it is planned to establish the work of mini -electric power plants to prevent long -term disruption of the power system after Russian rocket firing. Prime Minister Denis Shmigal has informed about it.

According to him, due to a full -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine, they decided to carry out a radical reform - to build a decentralized energy system. "Then it will be less vulnerable to hostile attacks. It is about the creation of mini -electric power plants and small generation objects implemented in an existing power system," Shmigal said.

At the same time, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories state that mini -electric power plants will provide water and heat to settlements, as well as energy safety of atomic generation. In addition, 20 such ministers can issue the capacity of one atomic block. "For example, 100-150 MW is required for the start of the atomic block. The generators do not reach such capacity, but mini-electric power plants will cope well with this task," the department said.

According to Denis Shmigal, gas turbine and gas -piston mini -electric power plants that arrive in our country as part of humanitarian aid from different EU countries are installed in Ukraine. In this case, the production of electricity at such stations is expensive. However, their advantage is to start working quickly: they are accelerated for a maximum of 3 minutes, while the atomic block is three days. Gas turbine and gas -piston power plants with small blocks, on average 50 MW.

But with proper use, you can reach up to 1 thousand MW - it is a nuclear unit. Such power plants, as a rule, do not require special human intervention and maintenance, recall that on January 2, the Ministry of Energy warned that electricity interruptions in Ukraine will last at least until the end of the heating season. According to the profile minister Herman Galushchenko, the cause is significant damage to both generation and electricity transmission systems.
