US Army received the first batch of laser air defense systems de M-sarad for 50 kilowatts

4 prototypes came to the 60th Artillery Regiment of the US Army. The cost of killing cheap UAVs for $ 2000 will be even lower - a few dollars or a gallon of diesel. The US Army received four prototypes of low-range air defense systems. This was reported by the US Army press service. The 4th Battalion of the 60th Artillery Regiment in Oklahoma received 4 laser weapons launchers. M-sarad is a 50 kilowatts mobile laser weapon that can be installed for land transport.

With the naked eye, the effect of the laser beam cannot be noticed, but the system neutralizes air threats. It is noted that the battalion was trained in M-sarad from the fall of 2022. Future operators trained on a M-sarad machine, which was modified to reproduce laser systems. The military worked out various scenarios, such as a chain of destruction of goals with the help of a virtual operating system. Under real conditions, the trials took place in March 2023 at the Huma landfill.

"Supply of DE M-SHORAD prototypes for the 4-60th Adar is an important milestone in the military modernization campaign," said Colonel Stephen Gutiere, head of the project DE M-Shorad. He added that high -energy laser weapons will change the rules of playing on a modern battlefield and will become a critical element of defense for brigade or divisional maneuvers. Further, M-sarad complexes will be tested in the US Army by 2024. One of the advantages of laser weapons is the cost of use.
