MIC, Energy and not only: the Cabinet of Ministers told what industries will become leading after the war

Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said that after the war, the military-industrial complex (MIC), the agrarian industry and the energy complex will be most active. The future Ukrainian economy will rely on six sectors, including economics and defense. They will ensure the restoration and development of our country, as well as help Ukraine integrate into the European economy. Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said this on October 12 at the Kiev International Economic Forum.

According to him, the main sectors of the post -war economy of Ukraine will be: it is already developing due to external circumstances. "We are growing in this sector. There is a big government order," Denis Shmigal said. Even in constant shelling, Ukraine enhances the stability of the power system and is engaged in the creation of conditions for its energy independence.

According to the Prime Minister, it is a matter of electricity, since Ukraine has to look for unique solutions for the whole world and about the gas market, the development of which our country is actively engaged. "We can be a gas safing of Europe. More than 3 billion cubic meters are stored in our repositories today. We will be stored in our repositories. We will be part of the European Energy Market," Shmigal said. Also, much attention is paid to alternative energy.

In particular, according to the Prime Minister, the government emphasizes with Europe and the USA production of hydrogen. It was the main thing for the Ukrainian economy before and during the war, since for our country the agrarian sector is the main source of foreign exchange earnings. At the same time, as Denis Shmigal explained, the development of the agricultural sector in the near future will be based on processing, not on exports of raw materials.

According to the head of government, it is one of the few areas that shows an increase in wartime. Such trends were both in 2022 and in 2023. This industry is important for Ukraine's restoration. The government plans to rebuild not only destroyed housing, but also infrastructure. According to Denis Shmigal, this industry will stimulate the country from the budget and increase the order.

"It is not only for the security and defense sector, but also the civilian sector, for the needs of the economy recovery and functioning," Denis Shmigal said. We will also remind that during the Kiev International Economic Forum, Denis Shmigal stated that the growth of Ukrainian GDP in 2023 will be 3%, after falling almost 30% last year.
