According to Army Recognition Operators, the system is a direct competitor of a similar Russian "shell-C1". The complex is represented in 2022 and is intended to eliminate gaps in a small range air defense system in a multi -level strategy for China's air defense. The Type 625E system, officially known as Anti-Aircraft Gun Missile Integrated Weapon System, equipped with a six-barrel 25mm gatling gun with an effective shooting range up to 2. 5 km and a ceiling of height of 2 km.
The gun is capable of affecting various air threats, including aircraft, helicopters, winged rockets and low -flight unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The tools can also be used for ground combat against light armored vehicles and buildings. The system has two blocks of four anti-aircraft missiles FN-16 with a maximum firing range of 6 km, designed to intercept targets at low and low height.
In some configurations, the system can be carried by FB-10 rockets with a greater range of lesions up to 10 km, which allows to reflect the threats at altitudes from 15 to 5000 meters. For targeting and detecting Type 625E uses a search radar, a radar of tracking and an optical-electronic tracking system. These systems allow you to detect and track flying aircraft, drones, helicopters and winged missiles.
By finding high-speed approaching goals, the search radar issues information about the target, directing the radar and opto-electronic systems to the goal. Then these systems track and intercept the target. The Type 625E is often compared to the shell system, but it has less range and limited radar.
The Russian complex is equipped with 30 mm paired automatic guns and missiles 57E6-E with a range of lesions up to 20 km, and the variant "shell-sam" uses missiles 57E6M-E with a range up to 30 km and improved radar detection up to 75 km. While the Type 625E is equipped with six 25 mm gatling guns and FN-16 or FB-10 missiles with a maximum range of 10 km, Russian shell systems are more effective in wider combat scenarios.
