"Not Crasted, but stopped": The Russian Federation declared a willingness to return to the grain agreement

This was stated on July 25 by Assistant President of the Russian Federation in International Affairs Yuri Ushakov, reports the Russian newspaper "Ria News". "We have ceased to participate in this Agreement from July 18, but we are ready to return to participation, if our obligations that have been adopted with respect to the Russian side will be realistically implemented in practice," Ushakov told reporters.

Ushakov noted that the agreement was "not finally curtailed, but added" and added that Russia was allegedly ready to cooperate with the UN in ensuring the safety of grain export. Putin's assistant also reported that the grain agreement would be one of the topics to be discussed at a possible meeting between the Presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Taiip Erdogan. He did not specify the date and details of such a meeting.

On July 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the conditions for the restoration of the grain agreement. He demanded the abolition of all sanctions that were imposed against Russian grain and fertilizers, as well as the return of the SWIFT international payments to the banks of the Russian Federation. In addition, Putin requires to restore permits for trade in spare parts for agricultural machinery and unblocking of agricultural assets.
