Ukraine can get Cyprus air defense systems - Forbes

The US plans to persuade Cyprus to give their old air defense systems to the Ukrainian army after buying an iron dome in Israel, Forbes reports. Cyprus has concluded an Iron Dome Agreement for the purchase of the anti-aircraft missile system. The United States has to make a decision because more than 35 years ago they introduced an embargo on Cyprus' weapons.

The agreement gives the United States a unique opportunity to push Nicosia to transfer to Ukraine its old Russian air defense systems, the newspaper writes. Video Day Currently, Cyprus Air Defense Structure consists of 9K330 Thor and 9K37 Medium -range Beech. The iron dome is well known for its combat use at the Israeli service against small missiles released from the Gaza Sector, is also an effective system against unmanned aerial vehicles.
