With the help of false persons: Russian oligarch is trying to return the yacht from under US sanctions

Former Rosneft CEO Edward Khudainatov tries to prove the US Ministry of Justice that the arrested yacht belongs to him. American prosecutors, in turn, are convinced that another businessman Suleiman Kerimov owns the rights to the ship through false companies. The Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, through intermediaries, is trying to return his 106-meter Amadea yacht, which is currently influenced by US sanctions. About it reports Reuters.

The excluder of the Russian company Rosneft Edward Khilynatov said he is probably the owner of a yacht worth $ 300 million. This yacht was arrested by the US authorities last year as part of the sanctions against Russian oligarchs related to the Kremlin. Khudaynatov claims that he has filed a lawsuit with the USA on this issue. Khudaynatov attempts to persuade the US Department of Justice that the arrested yacht is illegally in the country and should be returned to him as a legitimate owner.

The written statements presented in Fiji, where last May, the US was confiscated by the Amadea yacht, claim that Khilynatov was used as a false owner to slow down the identification of the true owner of the yacht. The US prosecutors, for their part, stated that in 2014 and 2018, the US Ministry of Finance in 2014 and 2018 has imposed sanctions for the activities of the Russian Federation in Syria and in Ukraine, owns a yacht through a number of false companies.
