Belousov explained that the dead was in Vinnitsa, where she was delivered with other victims of the Russian Federation. In the first days after the exchange, it was unknown to whom the remains owned. However, on February 28, one of the bodies found a tag labeled "Roshchina", said a representative of the prosecutor's office.
After that, they conducted DNA examination and found that a body with a high level of probability belongs to a journalist who wandered in the prisons of the Russian Federation since 2023. "DNA samples were selected from Ms. Victoria's parents - from her father and mother. According to the results of this examination, the expert came to a conclusion with a likelihood of more than 99%that the body belongs to Ms. Victoria," - said Belousov.
The official also reported that forensic experts have not yet identified the cause of Roschina's death. According to him, the body is in a mummified state, so additional research is required. An overview of the remains showed that the woman suffered from torture: they found traces of strokes with a stunter, a broken edge, a garden, Belousov stressed. "Due to the mummification of the forensic examination, the causes of death were not initially established.
The information will be specified during the addition of forensic examination with the participation of our international experts,"-he sounded during a briefing. The Office of the Prosecutor General also described some of the circumstances of the investigation that the law enforcement agencies began. It turned out that the case was opened on October 17, 2023 after the request of the editor -in -chief of "Ukrainian Truth" by Sevgil Musayeva and human rights activist Lyudmila Yankina.
The journalist's death was received in October 2024. "We continue to establish all the circumstances of imprisonment, all the circumstances of death, all the circumstances of the use of torture to Mrs. Victoria," Belusov summed up. It should be noted that on the morning of April 24, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Timchenko reported that the body of the fallen journalist Victoria Roshchina was returned to Ukraine.
The official provided a minimum of information: only said the body was identified by DNA examination. Victoria Roshchyna is a Ukrainian journalist who first captured the Russian Federation in March 2022. The event took place in Berdyansk and the Russians forced the woman to record a video in which she said about the lack of "claims". Since the summer of 2023, relatives reported that she ceased to communicate with her relatives.
