Instead of "barbecue": Ukraine has noticed a T-90 Armed Forces Tank with new protection against drones (photo)

In one of the photos published, the Russian tank is equipped with additional armored plates. Experts believe that such a decision is tested during hostilities in Ukraine. Recently, the newest Russian T-90m Break Tank was spotted on the territory of Ukraine. Contrary to the poor quality of the photo, it shows noticeable changes: from the tank tower the protective "cages" is removed, and in their place two symmetrically arranged armored plants appeared.

This was reported on May 29 by Bulgarian Military Viewers. The authors of the material write that there is currently no final information about whether this T-90M is part of a new supply, whether all tanks from this party have received such updates. Interestingly, these armongers look as if they were factory production, not handicraft production. Western observers suggest that it can be a single instance that is testing the latest modernization.

Military analysts also believe that Russia is testing another T-90M renewal in the active war zone. It is likely that this new version will soon be produced in large quantities and will become a standard model. These improvements in Russian tanks are aimed at counteracting the growing threat from drones and ammunition, which are increasingly used in modern weapons. This design also protects engines and transmission.

It is noted that this modernization will be useful for Russian tanks crews, especially in forest areas, if it is effective when testing in battles. According to experts, an additional layer of armor has several advantages: "In addition, such a solution will make it possible to quickly make additional armored armongers at each plant of the UPZ, and soon to introduce a similar modernization on T-72B3 tanks," the observers emphasized.

One of the reasons for the testing of new protection has been the small efficiency of metal screens, so -called "brazier", against more modern weapons, especially against warheads with a tandem charge, specially designed to bypass such protection. Earlier it was reported that the Russian T-90m Tank "Break" is the most modern machine of the T-90 family.
