"Let's make 100,000 drones with AI to a month": how much do they cost and what benefits give the Armed Forces

Technologically, Ukraine has much ahead of Russia in the field of artificial intelligence for drones, says Valery Yakovenko. But while such UAVs only pass the "run -in" on the battlefield. The capacity of the Ukrainian group of companies Droneua allows to produce more than 100 thousand unmanned aircraft equipped with artificial intelligence technology a month. This was reported by the co -founder of the group Valery Yakovenko on the air of "Public Radio".

Yakovenko says that at the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine and even a few months ago, most drones were collected from foreign components. Now the trend has changed and most of the details are Ukrainian. The development of technologies allowed to equip drones with artificial intelligence systems. It is implemented in small modular devices that can be equipped with any UAV.

"De facto, their functionality is that it is a small video card that processes the image in real time, and on board Dron is made to adjust his flight trajectory," Yakovenko explains. The only thing to take care of the operator of such a drone is the search for the target at a possible distance and the direction of the drone on it. However, according to Yakovenko, there are more complex and interesting options for using drones with AI.

UAVs can automatically look for a target in the catalog, identify equipment and other objects for damage. In fact, Ukraine has been using such technologies for a long time, but they have become only when it became known to Russian invaders. Now the price of a drone with artificial intelligence is up to $ 2,000. Yakovenko states that a group of companies can produce more than 100 thousand such drones per month.

Large 10-inch, with a possible amount of amount of about 3 kg have a cost of up to 20 thousand UAH. "If we talk about the overall capacity of companies that can now collect these drones, they are even larger. But it is not a massive history. Now artificial intelligence technologies are passing" rolling ", both in certain areas of the front and on landfills.

So The preparatory stage is ongoing now, and we only see the first mass use of such technologies, but in the future it will be a certain standard, " - says Droneua co -founder. Yakovenko says that in reality Russia also uses similar technologies, but is usually a few months behind. However, for the purpose of propaganda to their own audience, loud "hammer" statements about some fabulous technologies are made. In fact, Ukraine is ahead not only in technology, but also in drones.

We would like to remind you that in 2023 it was stated about the first drone under the full control of artificial intelligence. The first launch of the drone under the control of AI took place in Australia. The drone independently carried out a test mission and successfully returned to the base. For the first time in the world, a drone with artificial intelligence took off from a futuristic station for drones and flew the building on its own, returning to the base.
