There are no more than 50 Russians in the city: only the northern districts of Kupyansk receive the Russian Armed Forces, — Tregubov

Share: The situation in Kupyansk remains tense, but it has become much more difficult for the Russian occupiers: they failed to break through to the southern part of the city, and currently hold only the northern districts. According to the Ukrainian military, there are less than 50 enemy fighters left in the city, isolated from each other and from the main forces.

As reported by the head of the communications department of the United Forces Group, Viktor Tregubov, in the Yedyni Novyny telethon on November 14, the Russian troops did not achieve the expected development of events in Kupyansk, which they had hoped for ten days ago. They did not manage to break into the southern districts of the city, and currently their presence is limited only to the northern districts.

According to Tregubov, the number of Russian troops in Kupyansk has decreased to less than 50 people. They are separated from each other and from the main forces due to logistics effectively disrupted by Ukrainian troops. In addition, the movement of the occupiers complicates the high activity of Ukrainian drones. At the same time, the enemy shifted its main efforts to the east and south of the city, trying to eliminate the Ukrainian bridgehead on the left bank of the Oskil River.

If successful, this could significantly complicate the logistics of Ukrainian troops and the maintenance of the city. However, as of now, the occupiers are not achieving their goals, and Ukrainian forces are taking appropriate measures to repel them.

"Although the ice is actually very fragile, the situation is difficult, especially considering that when the Russians saw that they were not doing well in the city, they shifted their main efforts to the east of the city, to the south of the city, and are now trying to eliminate the Ukrainian bridgehead altogether on the left bank of the Oskil River.

If they succeeded in this, it would create such problems for the city that Ukrainian logistics might not be able to exist and, accordingly, then the city could be held it would be very difficult. But as of now, they are also unable to do so. We simply see the transfer of efforts there and are taking appropriate measures," said the military officer.

Tregubov also noted that now the Russians are concentrating their efforts more on the adjacent territories, trying to interrupt Ukrainian logistics, in particular east of the Oskil River, and control the approaches to Kupyansk. However, these attempts are currently unsuccessful. Regarding the forces that the Russians used in the Kupyan direction, Tregubov said that the enemy used about 149,000 people in the northern Kharkiv region.

Locally, their presence is limited to small groups, and Ukrainian troops are already achieving certain successes in repelling attacks. In addition, the enemy became more active in the nearby Veliko Burlutsky area, trying to create a control zone along the Ukrainian-Russian border and push it into Ukrainian territory. Here they are physically present only in small settlements and in open areas.

In the Vovchan direction, the situation remains difficult due to the activation of the enemy from several sides. According to Tregubov, Russian troops actively use drones of various types, including fiber-optic ones, which creates a certain advantage in the air. Ukrainian forces are capable of countering these threats, but the lack of resources and the number of enemy drones remain a challenge.

Earlier, the head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Tregubov, said that Kupyansk is isolated, and Russian troops hold only the northern districts of the city. The invaders tried to break through from the other side, but failed, advancing only in a separate part of the region.
