The occupiers of the occupiers in the post of director transfer them to the Russian reserves, for which he was declared suspicion of a war crime and a pre -trial investigation was started, the Prosecutor General General reported. The Prosecutor General's Office states that this is the first case of suspicion of a war crime against the nature reserve fund of Ukraine.
The investigation revealed that the suspect transferred rare animals to the Russian Natural Biosphere Reserve "Rostovsky" and the Association "Living Nature of the Steppe". Among the stolen animals are two individuals of Zebra Chapman, Bison American, Przewalski's horse and deer David. It is noted that Olena David and Przhevalsky's horses are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine and are subject to special protection. In total, the crime has caused the reserve of UAH 22 million in losses.
The occupiers were reported suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28 and Part 1 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - he is charged with violations of the laws and customs of war committed by a prior conspiracy by a group of persons. Other involved in the crime is established by the investigation, the pre -trial investigation is conducted by the investigative department of the SUNP in the Kherson region.
The police of the Kherson region noted that the suspicion was reported to 48-year-old Kherson resident, who voluntarily went to cooperate with the occupiers and illegally occupied the position of director of the reserve. If guilty is proved, 12 years of imprisonment is provided for a war crime. The police also say that this is the second suspicion of the so -called "director", earlier he was already charged with a crime against the national security of Ukraine - collaborative activity.
It is also noted that Askania Nova Reserve is included in the UNESCO International Biosphere Reserve Network and should be defended by the Hague Convention. Therefore, the illegal transfer of animals is violated not only by the Law of Ukraine but also by international agreements.
