"Cause panic": the Russian Federation modernizes nuclear weapons near Europe - media (photo)

To spread: Russia modernizes its nuclear weapons bases near the border with European countries. In particular, in recent years, the Russian Federation has built and improved at least five nuclear facilities near Sweden. One of the Russian nuclear bases is 270 km from Sweden. The Swedish TVT SVT analyzed the Planet Labs satellite images from May 2025, which can see robots, test sites and fenced railway stations at the Russian nuclear facilities in Belarus, Kaliningrad (Kenigsberg), and Kolsberg.

"We are watching the Russian opportunities in this field," says Sweden Defense Minister Paul Jonson. According to him, the Swedish government has long been following the modernization of five Russian nuclear bases near the borders with European countries, as well as the Kremlin's investments in such a new doc. Defense of Sweden noted that the Russian political leadership regularly intimidates the world to promote the international arena.
