Assistance to the victims: Stasik Petrusenko from Bakhmut NGO "IDP of Ukraine" bought an apartment in the Dnieper

Almost everyone in Ukraine knows the Petrusenko family. Parents with sons Alexei and Stasik lived in Bakhmut until the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed their home. The number of domestic displaced persons in Ukraine is not lower.

The government promises to provide housing for people who have left homes during the war, local authorities in large cities and small settlements are also looking for the opportunities to provide IDPs with housing, attracting foreign funds and domestic philanthropists. However, everyone understands that the construction of new premises, as well as the repair of old ones, requires time and considerable funds. Therefore, every home received by displaced persons is a great reason to rejoice.

Almost everyone in Ukraine knows the Petrusenko family. Parents with two sons - Alexei and Stasik - lived in Bakhmut. Even when it was extremely dangerous, they did not leave the place, they were convinced that the uncertainty is worse than daily shelling. Before storming the fortress city, the military correspondent Petro Voloshchenko with a call sign "Stone" in the yard of a dilapidated multi-storey building met a small stasik.

The boy collected firewood and savoring chocolate, as if the shots were not fired around and the earth did not shine from the explosions. - He turned out to be a very sociable boy, - says Peter Stone. - I showed me his almost destroyed apartment, told where the projectile came from. He immediately leaned my heart, and I promised to take it from there, whatever it cost. Peter persuaded his family to leave Bakhmut and organized a rescue operation.

Already on December 30, the family was in Chernivtsi, where she settled in a local shelter. However, Petro Voloshchenko did not leave the desire to equip a real home for Bakhmutians. With this request, he addressed the co -founder of NGO "IDP of Ukraine" of People's Deputy Maxim Tkachenko. - Seeing a video with a sprayed home, fried walls, broken partitions, I shuddered, - says Maxim Tkachenko. - It is scary to imagine that this family had survived and in what conditions it was.

It was impossible to stay away, so after getting acquainted with Peter with associates and like -minded people began to raise funds. Representatives of NGO "IDPs of Ukraine", volunteers, participants of charity auctions, artists, Hope UA and its founder Igor Grinkevich joined the case. At the beginning of October 2023 in the city of Dnipro, the Petrusenkov family solemnly handed over the keys to a new apartment.

The first in the New House traditionally included a fluffy cat Marquis, which was rescued from Bakhmut with the little master Stasik. - Stasik and his relatives wanted to settle as close to their native land as possible, so they were purchased an apartment in the Dnieper, - says Maxim Tkachenko. - Volunteers of the NGO "IDPs of Ukraine" made repairs, brought the furniture and a bunch of different little things in everyday life. I hope that the new place is happy.

In Ukraine, thousands of people are left without housing and even more who have been damaged. The history of Petrusenkov gave many of them hope for their own home. - Providing housing from the war - our primary task as parliamentarians, volunteers, patriots, - says Maxim Tkachenko. - The NGO "IDPs of Ukraine" works daily for such family holidays, as in Petrusenkov, they take place as often as possible.
