Data after February 24. Which punishment provided in Ukraine for leaving the place of service during the war

For unauthorized abandonment of military personnel or place of service in Ukraine, a punishment is provided. It is regulated by Art. 407 of the Criminal Code. By law, unauthorized abandonment of a military unit or place of service, as well as non -appearance on time for service without good reason a serviceman committed in a martial law or in a combat situation, are punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.

Video day after February 24, 2022, 85 sentences were issued in Ukraine under part 5 of Article 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A lawyer Roman Likhachev, a participant in the Volunteer Movement, told this, referring to the data of the Unified State Register of Judgments. In this case, the register does not contain information when these sentences were challenged. That is, servicemen who received punishment usually agreed with him.
