Due to the accident at the Husinozersky GRES in Buryatia, more than 115,000 inhabitants of the region were left without light. A number of Russian media, including "Medusa" reports about it. More than 100 electrical substations were disconnected in Krasnodar. A number of streets were left without electricity, the local authorities said.

By the evening of July 16, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation reported that at the Rostov NPP there was a failure in the work of generating equipment. Rosatomi stated that one of the station units was disconnected "under the influence of automation due to problems on the turbogenerator". At the same time, they noted that the radiation background is normal. Due to the shutdown of electricity, the traffic of trams and trolleybuses in Krasnodar was suspended.

150 traffic lights did not work in the city. In addition, the Novorossiysk railway station remained without light. Recall that Rostov NPP is the largest enterprise of energy in southern Russia. It is located 13 kilometers from Volgodon. The station provides about 75% of electricity production in the Rostov region.
