Training is conducted in conditions where Russia threatens to use nuclear weapons and intends to withdraw from a global agreement on the ban on nuclear testing. The maneuvers are mainly in the airspace over Italy, Croatia and the Mediterranean, and the number of attracted equipment includes modern fighter jets, reconnaissance planes, refracts, as well as B-52 strategic bombers.
On this occasion, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg declared the relevance of nuclear restraint against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
