There was an extremely large number of incidents, crimes and deaths in the Russian army through alcohol. Other reasons for the high number of non-adhesive losses include a poor level of training in the handling of small arms, road accidents and climatic injuries-hypothermia. "Russian commanders are likely to consider the widespread abuse of alcohol especially harmful to combat capacity," reconnaissance emphasized.
The British Ministry of Defense noticed that drunkenness is a widespread phenomenon in most of Russian society and is considered an unspoken part of military life, even during hostilities.
