War of robots is possible in the coming years: US Army is preparing to fight machines

The US military believes that they should integrate robots and si into all processes, so that China is in no way inferior. The US Army has recently conducted great training known as the Project Convergence, which the command concluded that in the future, soldiers would rely more on machines, and this will reduce the risks for their lives, Defense NEWS writes.

In order for the integration of a person and machine to work properly, it should be based on a functional and user -friendly network, protected from cyberattacks, as well as systems with the required level of autonomy. As for the "project of convergence", they made it possible to see which systems are working and which are not, as long as the army is preparing for the fight against an opponent like China, who has advanced opportunities.

During Project Convergence, the army literally filled the battlefield with work, sensors and other machines designed to help soldiers in difficult situations. The experiment involved air and ground work with reconfigured amounts of load, the system of counteraction to drones and radiator, which simulates radio frequency traffic to confuse the enemy.

In total, the military used more than 240 technologies, including the possibilities of the Union Armed Forces of Great Britain, Canada, Australia, France and Japan. The budget request for the 2025 Financial year marks the first case when the army included funding for formations that include people and work, which are also called H-MIF.

At the first stage, which will provide the initial possibility of integration of humans and machines into infantry and armored formations, will require $ 33 million. According to budget documents, the army wants machines in these new formations to reduce the risks and provide the soldiers with additional information for decision making.

According to Alexander Miller, the technical director of General Randy George's army headquarters, the fact that the military will be increasingly relying on robots is an inevitable reality. Otherwise, the US is at risk of radically lagging behind opponents who also develop the concept of human and machine integration.

Miller also emphasized that the military experience of the Armed Forces greatly helps Americans to understand how still it is possible to improve robotic platforms for attacks, mines, mine and more. Despite the fact that there are failures and work may not hit the target or not shoot at all or stop, move the wrong way, they will help save the lives of many people equally.

The army should also persuade Congress to simplify the procurement process so that the military can promptly buy certain technologies to respond better to the needs of soldiers, quickly buying certain equipment. Miller said that another potential obstacle is that the US produces insufficient components. Therefore, you have to buy the parts that are made by the opponent.

Benjamin Jensen, a senior researcher at the Analytical Center of the Center for Strategic and International Research, is optimistic about human and machine integration, but it can take more time than the Army Command awaits. "Most people overestimate the speed at which new concepts can be developed even on the basis of proven technologies," he said. - "It takes years after a great war to create completely new formations and structures.
