Moldova is ongoing parliamentary elections: Vlad accused Russia of attempted intervention

To spread: on Sunday, September 28, there are parliamentary elections on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. This voting should determine the further geopolitical course of the country - for European integration or rapprochement with the Russian Federation. According to Al Jazeera, on the eve of the vote, Prime Minister Dorin has accused Russia of intervention. He stated that Moscow spends hundreds of millions of euros under the "hybrid war" to seize power.

"This is the last battle for the future of our country," Dorin said. Russia categorically denies all allegations of misinformation campaigns and attempts to buy voter votes. The polling stations started work at 7:00 local time. Voting will last until 21:00, and its preliminary results are expected in the evening of the same day. In this election, 101 deputies will be elected to the parliament of the country.

Following the announcement of official results, President Maya Sandu will nominate the Prime Minister. This candidacy, by tradition, will be a representative of a leading party or coalition that will receive the right to form a new government. The vast majority of sociological surveys before the election predicted the leadership of the ruling pro -European party and solidarity. This political force under the leadership is governed by the country since 2021.

However, sociologists point out that polls do not take into account the opinions of the numerous Moldovan diaspora. In addition, about a third of voters could not decide on the last moment. The Patriot pro -Russian election block actively used economic difficulties of the population in election campaigning. They focused on the slow pace of reforms and problems that, according to officials, intensified through mass misinformation.

"I urge everyone at home and all over Europe: we cannot change what Russia is doing, but we can change what we do as a people," said Prime Minister Dorin. He added: "Turn anxiety into mobilization and thoughtful actions . . . Help stop their schemes. " The pro -Russian bloc includes several political parties. Among them is our populist "our party", which stands for the so -called "balanced foreign policy". Also there is a block "Alternative", which publicly positions itself as a pro -European one.

However, political critics claim that this political power actually seeks closer relations with Moscow. President Maya Sandu officially called this vote "the most important elections in the country. " She made this statement on Friday, September 27. "Its result will decide whether we will strengthen our democracy and join the EU, whether Russia will drag us back into the gray zone, making us a regional threat," - wrote Maya Sandu on the social network X. Some voters demonstrate political apathy.
