According to law enforcement officers, according to him, Russian invaders fired at residential buildings in the village of Stepnogorsk, Zaporizhzhya region on the eve of 2024. The press service adds that a 43-year-old man was killed as a result of an enemy attack, many private homes were damaged or completely destroyed.

According to the investigation, the corrector of hostile fire was the guardian of the local kindergarten, whom representatives of the General Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU) were remotely recruited in December last year.

According to the SBU, the man "found himself in the field of view of" the invaders through his acquaintance - the choir of the local church of the UOC, which fled to the temporarily captured part of Zaporozhye and now works for the special service of Russia. Law enforcement officers add that the person involved in the GRU was collecting intelligence on the places of dislocation and moving the defense forces in the Zaporozhye direction.

Most of the enemy was interested in the place of the greatest concentration of personnel and military equipment. In addition, according to the press service, the man corrected Russia's rocket strikes on civil and critical infrastructure of the region, which causes the civilian population to suffer. Currently, the kindergarten has been reported suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - State betrayal committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons. Now, according to security staff, the person involved is in custody, he is threatened with life imprisonment.
