The military tested the "invulnerable" GPS for aircraft: the edges of Russia will not be silenced

So far, the module has been protested on a passenger plane, but will soon be tested on combat fighters. Northrop Grumman, which is one of the main military suppliers of the Pentagon, has protested with the US Army, a new GPS-module resistant to fighter-fighters, Interesting Engineering reports. The module has an EGI-M marking and may soon appear on all US Air Force military aircraft. EGI-M has been pre-protested on a small CESSNA Civil Cabinet, which is close to military fighters in size.

As soon as the system is launched into production, it will be first installed on F-22 Raptor fighters, and shortly then on the tactical aircraft of the long-range radar detection E-2d Advanced Hawkyye. The main task of the module is to protect against the obstacles of enemy HPs, which try to suppress navigation of aircraft that attack so that pilots can not navigate in space and strike accurately.

Electronic radio border systems are one of the main dangers for aviation in modern wars, the company said. If the enemy with the help of HRB manages to plug in GPS and other important radar systems, then the pilot becomes practically "blind", which makes it a light target for interceptors and air defense systems. Moreover, in some cases (at night or in bad weather) the pilot may even break.

"The last American pilot was shot down by a hostile pilot in the sky as far back as 1953, and we have continuously improved all these decades with radio electronic systems of aircraft to protect our air forces," said James Hecker, US Air Force General. "We constantly draw conclusions from modern wars and mark all the new dangers that arise on the battlefield, trying to find technical solutions against them," the general added.

The high -ranking military noted that today, in the face of constant threats to Russia and China, it is especially important not to keep up in the creation of innovative decisions, especially in the field of technology.
