Increasing Ukrainian air defense and maintaining pressure on Russia: a meeting of the President of Ukraine and NATO Secretary General was held in Odessa

In Odessa, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, during which it was about the security of Ukraine and the whole of Europe.   The Head of State thanked Ukraine from the first days of full-scale Russian aggression, when Mark Rutte was another Prime Minister of the Netherlands. The President noted that when they managed a lot of important things together, so much can now be done through joint efforts.

“Absolutely everyone sees what Ukraine's need is for air defense systems and missiles. We talked a lot about it today. Everyone sees how important it is to maintain pressure on Russia for this war and in order to squeeze Russia to readiness to actually move in diplomacy, ”said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.   In addition, the meeting referred to various formats of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO member countries. Our state is grateful for the continuation of the Ramstein format.

According to the President, it is important to maintain its efficiency and wide involvement of all partners.   Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mark Rutte devoted a significant part of talking to US relations and the efforts of the US side in negotiations with Russia.   “Putin has been ignoring the American proposal for a full ceasefire for 35 days.

The recent Russian blows along Kryvyi Rih, in Sumy, in other cities, show that the Russians are not only tuned to the continuation of the war, but also rather press the west than they feel the power of pressure on themselves, ”the Head of State said.   He also stressed that Ukraine expects that all agreements with partners in Europe and America will be implemented.   “It is also important that we all work together within the coalition of those who want to guarantee safety.

Britain, France, other NATO countries are already actively preparing the basis for a security contingent in Ukraine, ”said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.   Mark Rutte condemned Russian strikes in Ukrainian cities, including shelling of two ballistic missiles of Sumy on Palm Sunday.   “I am here today, because I believe that the people of Ukraine deserves true peace, true safety and protection in their country, in their homes. My heart with the people of Ukraine.
