Putin's interest in negotiations with Ukraine: whether the Russian Federation is ready for the end of the war

The President of the Russian Federation has declared the theory of victory of the Russian Federation over Ukraine, the basis of which is the allegedly endless offensive of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the ability to "survive" Western support of Ukraine, said ISW analysts. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is interested in peace talks in order to force the West to go to the approaches to violation of Ukraine's sovereignty.

This was reported by analysts of the Institute of War Study in the daily report on June 16. "Isw continues to assess that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in bona fide negotiations and only interests in the negotiations in specific cases as part of a broad information attempt to seduce the West to make concessions that would violate Ukraine's sovereignty," the statement said.

Analysts are convinced that Putin is unlikely to be interested in bona fide peace talks about the end of the war in the foreseeable future. In particular, given that he recently outlined the theory of the Victory of the Russian Federation over Ukraine, which is based on you that Russian invaders could allegedly endlessly crawled at the front and "survive" Western support of Kiev.

We will remind, on June 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow will be ready for peace talks for the end of the war, if Kiev removes its troops from temporarily occupied Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions. In addition, these territories and the Crimea Peninsula should be fixed in international treaties as "regions of the Russian Federation". Moreover, it demands that Ukraine be obliged not to join NATO or other military blocks.
