To the announcement of demobilization. Can the military be fired from service during the war

Can the military be released from the service before the war (photo: the General Staff of the Armed Forces / General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), after conscription during mobilization, Ukrainian servicemen may be released from serving after demobilization or in some cases provided by law.

Demobilization is the transfer of the armed forces and the national economy of the country from martial law to peace after the end of the war or as a result of a peaceful resolution of a conflict situation that necessitated mobilization. It is carried out by disbanding military units, joints and associations, headquarters, institutions, auxiliary units, dismissal of excess personnel. Therefore, demobilization is possible only after the abolition of martial law, that is, after the end of the war.

At the same time, there are a number of grounds on the basis of which mobilized servicemen have the right to release before the announcement of demobilization. They are provided for in Article 26 (2) of the Law on Military Duty and Van's Service: "If there is none of the grounds specified in the list above, then it is possible to be dismissed only after the Demobilization is announced," the Volunteer Organization reported in the Volunteer Organization.
