Sleeping seven Russian aircraft per week: the General of the Armed Forces explained how possible

According to Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko, the allocated missiles are assigned not only for the destruction of fighters, but above all for the country's anti-missile defense, which today is a fundamental issue. Expirer of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko told how the Ukrainian soldiers have managed to knock down seven enemy aircraft in the last week. About it writes OBOZ. ua.

As the General suggested, after the events in Avdiivka, the Ukrainian command made a decision to activate the work of enemy aircraft that caused massive air strikes on the defense of the city, and allocated a certain number of anti-aircraft missile complexes (ZRK) for these purposes. "We have a small number of long-range anti-aircraft missile systems, such as Patriot, SAMP/T, and a built-in Frankensam system that can operate up to 150 kilometers at medium-large altitudes," Romanenko said.

In the fight against Russian aviation, he emphasized, Ukrainian SCRs arrange successful "ambushes" primarily on "drying"-Su-34 aircraft, which are carriers of cabin-controlled aviation bombs, and Su-35, cover fighters. At the same time, the General noted that the allocated missiles are assigned not only to destroy fighters, but above all for the country's anti -missile defense, which today is a fundamental issue.

At the same time, he added that air defense actions, as the latest results show, are quite effective. On Wednesday, February 21, the forces of defense destroyed another enemy fate, which became the seventh in the account only one week. All seven Russian fighters were shot down on the Eastern Front. According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian military has already destroyed 338 aircraft, 325 helicopters and 7560 UAVs of the Russian army as of February 21, 2024.

According to Italian military expert Thomas Tainer, one of the batteries of the American Patriot System, transferred to Ukraine by Germany, successfully knocked 18 Russian helicopters and aircraft, including 3 Mi-8, 1 Su-24, 9 SU-34, 3 SU-34 , 1 A-50, IL-22m (damaged).
