The Armed Forces successfully beaten Russian drones "Forpost" for $ 7.5 million: what is known about them (video)

UAVs are designed for intelligence, laser targets and launching of missiles. They are issued by Israeli license. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have shot down at least a third expensive Russian drone called "Outpost". The focus gathered detailed information about the characteristics of this drone and found out what it is dangerous. The Operational Command "South" reported that on July 27 the drone "Forpost" conducted intelligence in the Nikolaev area for a purpose of further attack.

The anti-aircraft missile unit of the Armed Forces noticed the enemy apparatus in time and knocked it down. According to Russian media, Forpost drones are engaged in the search for objects and equipment of the Armed Forces in Ukraine, help attack them, illuminating the whole laser, or launching missiles themselves. The module with a powerful camera and thermal imaging allows the operators to notice tanks and other goals of the same size up to 8 km.

In March, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of Russia Igor Konashenkov said that the model of "Forpost-RU" was struck by the radar illumination and aiming of the anti-aircraft missile complex C-300 of the Ukrainian army 60 km from Kiev. "Outpost" is a version of the Israeli mid -range drone Searcher MK II from Israel Aerospace Industries, which Russia has been making a license at the Ural Civil Aviation Plant in Ekaterinburg since 2012.

One unit costs an aggressor country about $ 7. 5 million, provided that it is going from original components, as envisages the agreement with the developer. There are two versions of the "outpost" in arms of the Russians. Initially, the drone was conceived exclusively intelligence ("Forpost-R"), but they also created a shock model ("Forpost-Ru"), which was first introduced at the Army-2021 forum. Under the wings of the UAV placed two small missiles, designed to destroy single land targets.

According to "Vesti", in 2019, Russia conducted a drone "import substitution", which is why it is different from Searcher MK II. In "outposts" German engines Limbach L550 for 50 hp. replaced by more powerful Russian ADD-85 (85 hp). At the same time, the mass of the device increased by 50 kg, and the maximum flight height decreased by about a kilometer. In addition, a new protected line was installed, which increased the radius of 100 km.

The first message about the beaten "outpost" appeared on May 2, 2022. The soldiers of the anti-aircraft missile unit of the Armed Forces were knocked down by the Russian drone in Odesa region. On July 1, the Ukrainian military knocked out another "outpost" already in Mykolaiv region. As they stated in the South Air Command, the UAV was looking for an attack. Recently, it became known that the troops of Ukraine were shot down by the Russian Dron-reconnaissance "Eleron", also near Nikolaev.
