The material itself is impregnated with fear and alertness from this construction. But what really happens on the Kerch shipyard and what is the prospect of this construction? Let's understand. Newsweek is absolutely right in its statements that a ship larger than Moscow's missile cruiser is being built at the Hall Shipyard.
But what is the ship and what are the prospects for completing this construction? Newsweek writes about the universal landing ship of the project 23900 "Ivan Rogov", which has watertone… And here we rest on an extremely interesting dilemma: what is his water toom? I ask this question with a special taste, since I have been writing about universal landing ships (UDC) of 23900 from time to time from the moment of their laying in July 2020. Yes, you were not mistaken, I wrote them, not him.
After all, two UDCs of the Project are built at the hall plant. But we are not distracted. In July 2020, Vladimir Putin came specifically to put two UDCs with a pathos and a pump personally with a total cost of 100 billion rubles. According to the then tactical and technical characteristics, they had to have a complete displacement of 25 thousand tons, and the speed-22 nodes.
Even then, in 2020, I wondered: whether the hall plant will be able to pull the construction of two warships with a water tonnage 25 thousand tons (given that the technologically Russian maritime MIC, the construction does not entail construction of nothing more than 10 thousand tons), as well as what kind of power is the basis of such a ship? The fact is that today Russia has no force installations capable of pulling so serious volumes.
But in August 2020, Russian media with no less pathos and pump began to declare that UDC of the project 23900 will have a watertone of more than 30 thousand tons. In other words, since the laying of ships, their watertone in the project was increased by 5 thousand tons? Well, perhaps at the initial stage of construction, it was still acceptable, though controversial.
But… But in December 2020, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexei Kryvoruchko stated that the UDC of the project of 23900 will have a watertone already 40 thousand tons. That is, plus 15 thousand tons from the moment of laying! Characteristics, technical task, documentation - everything has changed literally on the move, while the actual construction has already begun. Moreover, not in small details, but globally - from 25 thousand tons to 40 thousand tons.
That is why the question remains: what kind of water ton of the ship can we speak specifically, not theoretically? And if at the beginning of the laying of such a large ship stated that the Russian Federation simply has no technological opportunity to complete its construction by itself, then given the increase in waterboarding by 15 thousand tons and total processing of the technical task - especially.
Initially, the completion of the construction of the first UDC "Ivan Rogov" was promised in 2025, and the second-"Mitrofan Moskalenko"-in 2026. After a while, the terms changed: the first UDC had to go for surrender in 2027, and the second in 2028. Today, the surrender of both ships has been moved for another year - for 2028 and 2029, respectively.
Back in 2020, I noted that the projects of these universal landing ships could not be completed technically or technologically, and they exist exclusively for the sawing of the budget. That is, the long -term prospect of making money on budgetary funds, postponings every year by then delivery of ships that will never be built. Even satellite photos that Newsweek demonstrates in their material confirm that construction is not just slow, but extremely limited.
But much more interesting is not even what the ship is collected, but what will be filled? As I mentioned above, in Russia today there is no force setting that could ensure the mobility of the warship of the warship not that 40 thousand tons, but even 25 thousand tons! Atomic power plants - yes, there is, but UDC of the Project 23 900 is not atomic. The characteristics state that it should be two diesel 10d49 and two Federal Turn Turbine M90FR.
But the fact is that the capacity of these power plants for a ship of 40 thousand tons will not be enough, not to mention the possibilities of the "Kolomensky plant" and PJSC "ODK-Saturn" to make such equipment in time and without defects, to say more-at all. A striking example was the Confusion of March 2024, when Sevmash made 23,900 bearings for the UDC of the UDC, which was developed in July 2022. That is, it took two years to manufacture at Sevmash. But it was more interesting.
The fact is that the bearings had to take a test on the groove, but at that time they could not produce it. That is, the bearings were made for two years, and when they did, they cannot be tested because there is simply no groove. Curtain. Today, Russia is unable to complete the construction of the UDC of the project 23900.
And not to write Western media and no matter how they describe the ship "Ivan Rogov" - this is not a capable combat unit with a watertone is several times greater than the missile cruiser "Moscow", but another monument of Russian corruption and technological degradation. And I do not exclude that Ukraine will receive this UDC with the halls returned during the liberation of Crimea. And in the same unfinished state in which they were years ago, they are now and will continue.
