According to the military, before strike, Ukrainian intelligence drones monitored the positions of Russian troops. After accurately identifying the goals, they were struck with the use of drones Switchblade 600, equipped with a system of capture and automatic completion on the target. At the same time, the air defense systems of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were unable to detect and intercept Ukrainian drones.
"The total cost of the affected equipment is about $ 50 million," the press service said. The launch of these bargage ammunition is carried out with the help of a compact tubular starting installation, which allows them to quickly deploy them in combat conditions. Switchblade 600 is able to stay in the air for up to 40 minutes, overcoming a distance of 40 km and banging over the target.
Its maximum speed is 185 km/h, and the powerful combat part allows to affect the armored vehicles, including tanks. The main characteristics: Recall that in 2022 the United States concluded a contract worth $ 17. 8 million for the production and supply of switchblade drones for Ukraine. And in October 2024, the US company Aerovironment signed an agreement with the Ukrainian manufacturer on the localization of Switchblade 600.
