Almost 90 tons of fuel have flowed: the GBI accuses the Armed Forces Fighter of negligence, he is threatened with 8 years in prison

According to the investigation, the suspect did not check the density of the tank where the fuel was shipped for gas turbine engines. As a result, 89 tons of liquid from 6. 5 million UAH were flowing from there. The State Bureau of Investigation reported a suspicion of a serviceman due to official negligence, which resulted in the armed forces of Ukraine lost 89 tons of aviation fuel. This was reported on the website of the department on March 31.

According to the investigation, in August 2022, the Ukrainian military, whose duties included the storage of fuel and lubricants of one of the military units of the Armed Forces, did not check for the density of the tank where the fuel was shipped for gas turbine engines. As it turned out, the tank had leaky valves, from which almost 89 tons of liquid in the amount of UAH 6. 5 million had flowed.

After that, the Armed Forces fighter was informed about suspicion of negligent attitude towards military service, which caused grave consequences committed in the conditions of martial law - Part 4 of Art. 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to 8 years in prison. The DBR notes that the investigation is conducted by the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the military and defense sphere of the Southern Region.
