The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has prepared a project of an instruction that contains the requirements necessary for depriving the license of Russian or foreign media and prohibiting their activities. Written or even oral appeals of citizens, organizations or officials may be the basis for checking the activities of the media. About it reports the Russian Agency "RBC".
The ban on the activity of a media resource may follow the dissemination of false information about the Russian army, discredit of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, calls for unauthorized rallies, etc. According to the Russian portal of projections of normative legal acts, the media may lose a license for: it is noted that in case of detection during audits of repeated violations, the Prosecutor General's Office should take appropriate measures.
In such circumstances, it is possible to suspend foreign media and to deprive its license only in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The material also states that the bill, which gives such powers of the Prosecutor General's Office, was submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in April, and later signed by President Vladimir Putin.
