An unknown drone poured red paint over a Russian villa in Sweden: what is known about the incident

Share: A drone of unknown origin flew over the villa of the Russian trade delegation on the island of Lidingo near the Swedish capital Stockholm. The drone sprayed red paint and an unknown "sticky substance" on the building before flying away. There were no casualties, the villa did not even have to be evacuated, AR reports with reference to information from the Stockholm regional police.

The law enforcement officers specified that the drone in the sky above the building was noticed by the employees of the trade delegation. According to them, the drone dropped a container with paint and some still unidentified substance on the villa. Then the drone took off, and witnesses called the police.

Investigators took samples of the substance dumped on the building for analysis and opened a case of vandalism and harassment, said the press secretary of the Stockholm Regional Police, Ola Österling. The officers themselves did not see the UAV, but interviewed the employees who called them. It has not yet been possible to establish who exactly was behind the incident.

The Swedish island of Lidingo is home to foreign embassies, their auxiliary offices and residences, including the aforementioned villa of the Russian trade delegation. It was previously reported that Aerodome drones will fly anywhere in 90 seconds. The innovative rapid response program was launched by the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA). It also became known that Germany successfully tested the newest combat laser that "burns" drones in the air.
