Damaged by the Russian drone House of Writers: Oksana Zabuzhko told interesting facts about the object

The House of the Union of Writers, where the People's Movement of Ukraine was formed in the late 1980s, was damaged during the New Year's fire of the capital. Writer Oksana Zabuzhko appealed to the people of Kyivans to help disassemble the blockages and emphasized the importance of this architectural monument to preserve national history. On January 1, the Russian attack in the capital damaged the building of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, which is of great historical importance.

This was reported on Facebook by writer Oksana Zabuzhko. Zabuzhko reminded that this building played a significant role in the political processes of the late 1980s. In the walls of the Writers' Union in 1987-1991, the People's Movement of Ukraine became one of the drivers of the collapse of the Soviet Union. The writer also drew attention to the confusion in the historical names of the building, often called "Lieberman's estate".

In fact, Liberman's merchant only purchased this estate at the end of the nineteenth century, and originally he was known as the "House of Count Ignatiev" - a former Kiev governor who at one time supported the Ukrainian movement. Oksana Zabuzhko urged Kyivans to join the parsing of Zalov near the house on January 2. She emphasized the importance of the urgent restoration of the building to keep it for future generations. "This house must be restored, as soon as possible," the writer emphasized.
