Barrett M107A1 rifle is an advanced version of the M107 model. The design used titanium and polymers, as well as patented nickel-technology. The Norwegian Army continues to strengthen its defense opportunities within the strategic course for the modernization of weapons.

As part of this program, Norway plans to buy several hundred of the latest sniper rifles Barrett M107A1, produced by the US company Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, which demonstrates the country's efforts to prepare for new challenges of the modern war. This was reported on September 9 at Army Recognition. Barrett CEO, Brilang James, emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Norwegian Armed Forces and emphasized the company's commitment to the production of advanced weapons.

"We are proud that we can continue to equip the Norway army with our high -precision weapons. M107A1 symbolizes our desire for innovation and reliability," James said. The M107A1 rifle, characterized by high accuracy and power, is capable of striking goals at a distance of 2,000 meters, which gives a significant tactical advantage on the battlefield. This allows the Norwegian snipers to effectively neutralize opponents at great distances.

An important complement to the weapon is the oppressor of sound, which reduces the acoustic noticeability of the shot and facilitates hidden operations. The new rifle will replace the outdated model 82A1, which was previously used by the Norwegian army. The new model is not only lighter (28. 7 pounds against 32. 7 pounds in 82A1), but also exceeds it by 200 meters. These improvements make M107A1 more suitable for modern combat conditions.

M107A1 is an advanced version of the M107 model, which, in turn, is the "descendant" of the M82A1 model, also manufactured by Barrett. Each detail M107A1 was revised and refined on the basis of the experience of hostilities in Iraq, Afghanistan and other regions where M82A1 was actively used. The main improvements relate to the materials and design of the rifle.
