"Mobilize every fifth": why not all will serve in the Armed Forces

The military often emphasize that the service will affect many, insisting that Ukrainians have to join the Armed Forces. However, according to Yevgeny Dyky, a veteran of the ATO, a former company commander in the Aydar battalion (2014), the words "serve or fight will all" will not be quite fair if you look at the numbers. "We have approximately 32 million people in our country, if you subtract those who have left.

The expert adds that in order to effectively fight the enemy and protect its territories, Ukraine needs to mobilize another 500 thousand to one million people. However, this does not mean that all servicemen will be sent to the front. One fighter on the forefront, according to Wild, accounts for several servicemen in the rear. Therefore, people who mobilize perform different tasks on different areas of the front and rear.

"We already serve a million people: 800 thousand in the Armed Forces, 200 thousand - National Guard, other structures. They serve, not fighting, because we are talking about parts at the front, at the border, in the rear. This does not mean that a million people on the front. According to the norms of the US Army, one fighter who performs a mission has 11 servicemen in the rear. We cannot afford such a ratio.

And the question is whether we are able to call technically so much, because it is a difficult process, ”the military says.
