They will be able to fly to Moscow: Ukraine modernizes Neptune missiles - the media

Ukraine has developed a GPS guidance system that directs the rocket to a predefined place. The infrared head of the rocket's self -introduction is looking for a target and fixing it using a pre -loaded image and then attacks it. Ukraine is improving Neptune missiles so that they can impress targets in Moscow and other remote regions of Russia. This is stated in the article by The War Zone edition of The Drive.

The sources in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine informed the publication that the Armed Forces intends to strike on the Russian capital and other objects within the Russian Federation, using variants of the Neptune missile, modified on the ammunition of the class "Earth - Earth". According to the source from the Ukrainian defense department, on August 24 in the Cape Tarhankut area in Olenivka in the occupied Crimea, the Russian air defense system C-400 was attacked by the modified "Neptune".

It is noted that in April 2023, the Ministry of Defense reported that Ukraine was working on the conversion of the P-360 "Neptune" in the land of land, but it needed a new guidance system that was not yet. The system was close to completion, but certain types of chips were needed. On August 28, this official stated that Ukraine has developed a GPS system that directs the rocket to a predefined place.

The infrared head of the rocket's self -introduction is looking for a target and fixing it using a pre -loaded image and then attacks it. If the rocket cannot hit the target, it stops the attack. The War Zone experts believe that such a rocket modification would be difficult to detect and suppress with the means of radio electronic wrestling. The Ministry of Defense official says that the converted "Neptune" has a range of about 400 km and a good load of about 350 kg.

From the disadvantages - the launch of a permutical rocket can interfere with modern air defense systems of the Russian Federation, as well as a small number of such "Neptune". "There are only a couple of dozen," the official said. It should be reminded that the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet "Moscow" was destroyed in April last year by Ukrainian Neptune missiles.
