Set "brains": how Ukraine reworked UAV NE-141 "Strizh" for blows on the airways of the Russian Federation

Throwing the old equipment, Ukrainian engineers could free up space for 300 kg of explosives and modern electronics. Russian journalist Yulia Latinina is convinced that Ukraine has struck Engels (Russian Federation) with modernized unmanned aircraft Tu-141 "Strizh". She told about these machines on the air of her author's access code. Information bunker on YouTube.

According to Latinina, in the Soviet times, the Tu-141 was produced at the Kharkiv Aviation Plant, and after the collapse of the USSR in independent Ukraine there were more than 150 units. However, the machines were very poor, so they could not be used as intended. "It is a very old Soviet drone that served for intelligence. It was built in such an auxiliary times that it had no GPS - the equipment took photos on the film.

The equipment weighed 200 kg, the top was still a parachute on which the aircraft descended back. He did not convey the data, but had to deliver this film physically. That's such a junk, "the journalist said. Yulia Latinina refers to the military analyst of Roman Svitan, the Colonel of the Armed Forces in the reserve, who told how the Ukrainians managed to modify the "swings".

According to him, from the Tu-141 removed the old 200-pound camera and parachute, installing a fighting part with explosives weighing about 300 kg. In addition, the drone was put "brains", that is, modern electronics for navigation, which allowed to fly to Engels and destroy Russian strategic bombers. In another podcast of December 9, Yulia Latinina stated that under Engels was the only Russian airbase, from where strategic bombers with winged X-55 and X-101 winged missiles flew.

As a result of the attack of Ukrainian UAV, something happened with two Tu-95 aircraft, each carries 16 missiles. "Here we see that much less came the last," Yulia Latinina stressed. On December 5, it became known about the attack on the military aerodromes "Engels" in Saratovskaya and "Diagilevo" in the Ryazan regions. In Russia, it was immediately assumed that the blows had caused the Soviet Tu-141 "Strizh".
