Not only rockets: the US is testing long -range weapons in the Pacific Ocean

An important step in the test was the launch of Vanilla UAS from Platform Aerospace, which, despite the heavy thunderstorm, made a 27-hour flight. During the Valiant Shield's military exercises, conducted in the Pacific under the Navy, the US Army tested a new high -precision long -range system. The tests also used high -rise balls and a new drone for exploration and reconnaissance. This was reported on June 27 by Defense One.

It is about PRSM ballistic missiles, which have been launched from the autonomous many-dominant starting installation of the Autonomous Multi-Domain Launcher (AML), as well as Vanilla Ultra-Long Endraft System. The Pacific Army of the United States, together with the research and experimentation department and Aerostar Industries, launched Human Aircraft and Vanilla UAS from GUAM Human island. This drone made a 27-hour flight, despite a strong thunderstorm.

Vanilla UAS drone is developed by Platform Aerospace. This drone has unique characteristics, including record flight duration and high load capacity. This UAV is able to stay in the air for more than 8 days without refueling, which is a world record for unmanned apparatus with an internal combustion engine. This record was set in October 2021, when the drone flew 12 200 miles in 8 days, 50 minutes.

The drone is able to carry about 68 kg of useful cargo, which allows to use various sensors and equipment for different tasks. But a key feature of the apparatus is to perform tasks in extreme weather conditions and remote regions, including the Arctic.

The head of the Operational Department of the Pacific Community of the US Land Forces Brigade, General Jeffrey Van Antwerp noted that during the launch of new missiles of the far radius of action off the coast of the Palau "Everything was just fantastically". It was the first launch of this kind outside the continental United States. At the same time, the commander emphasized the effectiveness of AML installations, which "potentially do not even need a person and can be managed in various ways.

" "They have autonomous functions when they can simply move on pre -programmed ways. They can be controlled remotely, and they can be associated with other systems. Systems fill out what we consider to be gap in our potential and vulnerability in potential enemy.

According to him, training has made it possible to better understand common requirements, especially the requirements of the Air Force, which continue to develop their concept of maneuverable combat use, and to check the architecture of communication. Recall that last November it was reported that the United States intends to deploy new Typhon complexes in the Pacific Tomahawk and SM-6 in the Pacific. The placement is caused by the efforts to contain China from the invasion of Taiwan.
