"To confront the enemy": in the Russian Federation they want to introduce initial military training in schools

"Currently, the development of a training course of PVP within the time set aside for training of citizens in the field of defense in educational organizations," said Deputy Minister of Education Tatiana Vasilyeva. According to her, for military training in secondary and vocational education institutions, it takes 35 hours for five days. The official clarifies that the mandatory part of the Fundamentals of Life Safety includes modules on initial military training.

In October, the Ministry of Education also planned to add military and medical training to the OBZ. 10th and 11th grade students want to talk about how to deal with Kalashnikov or hand grenades F-1 and RGD-5. The Ministry of Defense of Russia, for its part, also supported the introduction of a training course of PVP in schools and vocational schools. First Deputy Minister Valery Gerasimov believes that it is necessary to allocate 140 hours and teach it during the last two years of study.

The initiative is ready to support in all factions of the Russian Parliament. Deputies believe that only people with real combat experience should be allowed to teach PVP. According to the head of the faction "Right Russia - for the truth" Sergiy Mironov, the introduction into the school discipline of military training lessons will allow to solve several tasks at once.

Thus, in his opinion, the war in Ukraine showed that mobilized in the Russian Federation did not have sufficient experience to participate in hostilities. "With the beginning of a special military operation [a full -scale war in Ukraine] this issue has become particularly acute. The introduction of such a subject in schools will allow to carry out systematic preparation of citizens for possible confrontation with the enemy," he commented on journalists.

According to him, not only technical training, but also psychological. Sergey Mironov is also convinced that the introduction of such courses will allow the employment of "tens of thousands of people" with the experience of fighting. According to journalists, the initiative to return to the Russian school program of initial military training lessons comes from the deputies of the State Duma Jan Lantratov and Vladimir Pavlov.
